TTTech Auto expands management team with key hires from the tech and auto sectors

  • The three hired senior executives include Friedhelm Pickhard, former CEO at Bosch subsidiary ETAS, Patrik Fiegl, former SAP Vice President S/4HANA and Kenji Nishikawa, former Toyota General Manager of E/E Architecture.
  • The appointments are part of TTTech Auto’s overall growth strategy and bolster the company’s efforts to support customers and partners in the ongoing industry transformation towards a software-driven ecosystem
  • The newly created positions at TTTech Auto include the positions of Chief Growth Officer, Senior Vice President Strategic Product Management and Managing Director of Automotive in Japan

Vienna, Austria – TTTech Auto has expanded its management team in Europe and Asia with senior executives from Toyota, SAP and ETAS/Bosch. The three hires combine more than eight decades of professional experience within the automotive and software industry. They will help to provide forward-looking technology to support customers and partners in the industry’s journey towards a software-driven ecosystem. TTTech Auto’s recently announced car operating system (Car.OS) activities will play a central role in this endeavor.

Friedhelm Pickhard brings in 30 years of experience in different positions at Bosch Group where he was the responsible CEO of ETAS since 2010. In the newly created position of the Chief Growth Officer at TTTech Auto, he will be responsible for orchestrating the different organization units towards one goal:

Former SAP Vice President Patrik Fiegl joins TTTech Auto as a Senior Vice President Strategic Product Management. As a 23-year business software veteran, he spent the last 14 years at SAP, during five of which he held the position of Vice President S/4HANA Product Management and Co-Innovation. In the newly created position at TTTech Auto, the experienced technology strategist will sharpen and evolve TTTech Auto’s solution in tight collaboration with its ecosystem and international client base. “We see an increasing global demand for safety technology as the software complexity of modern vehicles constantly grows,” says Patrik Fiegl, Senior Vice President Strategic Product Management at TTTech Auto. “That is the right moment for TTTech Auto to show what it uniquely possesses to making autonomous driving a trustworthy reality.”

As Managing Director Automotive for Japan, Kenji Nishikawa, is responsible to closely connect the needs of Japanese OEMs and TTTech Auto’s technology. The former Chairman of AUTOSAR was at Toyota engaged in various roles for the development of automotive electronics systems and components for nearly 30 years. Thereof, he held the position of General Manager for 10 years, lately, he was the Project General Manager of E/E Architecture and Vehicle Network Development at Toyota. “The Japanese automotive sector is among the largest and most developed worldwide,” says Kenji Nishikawa, Managing Director Automotive at TTTech Japan. “For some years, the market is opening up for international suppliers and software companies. I see a big potential in TTTech Auto products to add value and to integrate well into the advanced Japanese automotive industry.”

Since its foundation in 2018, TTTech Auto has grown to about 1,200 employees and relies on vast software engineering excellence. The most recent strategic expansions added development sites in Spain, Croatia, Serbia and Turkey to its global footprint and to complement its operation in Austria and Germany. Close relations with technical universities support the company‘s overall growth.

The flagship product of TTTech Auto is MotionWise, a series-proven software platform for automated driving, providing unique integration and real-time orchestration of applications, global scheduling logic and tools. Using the platform, OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers can reduce their development, testing and validation complexity and ensure that essential safety and mission-criticality requirements can be met in both single and multi-SoC environments at reduced cost.
